Beatrock Music is a Label, better yet a Navy...

So, it's been slowly becoming officially official, and now it's pretty much official - Beatrock Music is now a record label and the music wing of Beatrock. I can't tell you all how excited I am about this!

We have a bunch of new projects and releases on the horizon:

The first unofficial release will be FATGUMS X BAMBU ...A Peaceful Riot... on VINYL. The first 20 copies sold at beatrock.com will come with a free copy of another unofficial release by Mass Movement, entitled ...A Peaceful Riot... THE SAMPLES.

Then we'll get to the original, brand spanking new releases. The CounterParts will be dropping our full-length debut album sometime this fall. This one promises to knock hard with production from Gammaray, Otayo Dubb, myself and a few others. Lyrically, you'll get the passionate spitting of MC T-Know, the knowledge-dropping insight of BraelanB, and the swagged-out lyricism of Otayo Dubb. You'll also love the guest spots we got on this one. Some examples are Tahaj the 1st killing it on our Bay Area anthem "Home in the Bay", Bambu, Kiwi, and DJ Phatrick strapping up together again on "Guns of Cali", and Nomi of Power Struggle dropping poetics on "The Message".

Thanksgiving day marks the release of the new Power Struggle record entitled Remittances. Nomi, Mister Rey and I have been putting in some major work to mold this record into one of the best projects I've ever been a part of. Drawing from his experiences from Minneapolis to New York, to the Philippines and back to San Francisco, Nomi takes the listener on a musical journey through life, politics, love, and struggle. This dude is a true street poet.

Beatrock Music will also be teaming with Hella Records to release Otayo Dubb's first solo album entitled A Wolf In Sheep's Music. The record is slotted for release in early 2010. You'll hear a lot more about this project in the near future, but all I gotta say now is that Tayo is one of the most talented musicians I've ever worked with. His talent can be heard on his previous critically acclaimed releases: Royalty by Co-Deez and The Luv Ones Mixtape.

We're also in the process of putting together a Beatrock Music mixtape that will feature all of your favorite artists from up and down the west coast to across the nation. Also, look out for tons of merchandise from slipmats to t-shirts, all designed by the good folks at Beatrock.
